Definition:

Although Antech Imaging Services does not currently offer this option, we can help you identify the on-site system that could work best for you. Select this solution and acquisition of digital images in a DICOM3 format happens on your site (DR, CR, CT, MRI, US, etc.). You can implement a more secure backup solution by transmitting your images to the Antech Imaging Services Digital Vault. Peace of mind is priceless.

Requirements:

High-speed communications within the clinic (intranet connection). Digital images should be DICOM3-compliant.

Advantages:

Images are on site all the time and available at any workstation that has the viewing software installed.

Disadvantages:

On-site PACS requires the purchase of an expensive server, meaning that you have the upkeep, backup worries, disk space concerns and IT headaches associated with owning a large server. You will also be required to purchase expensive PC-based viewing software for each computer used to access images. All your data is housed in your facility; however, on-site PACS does not allow for easy access of your images from any computer, nor does it allow you to securely share your cases with referral veterinarians and/or owners. Connection of multiple clinics is possible, but requires expensive hardware at each location. Click on the Antech Imaging Services Digital Vault link to see how we can provide you with a more secure backup option.
